How did you become addicted?
I had a root canal 4 or 5 years ago. Same story as everyone else....I would just take 1 when I got home from work at first, then I started taking 1 when I got up in the morning, then 1 at lunch until I was taking 2 - 80mg oxcy's at a time 4 times a day.

Your turning point? (What made you choose recovery?)
I've had 5 or 6 of them. The depression is terrible and I just got tired of not being a father to my 2 daughters. My biggest problem was I ran out every 10-12 days and suffered until I found more. Another problem that I have is that money is no object to me as I am quite wealthy, but in this case that has just fueled the fire.
Most recently one of my closest friends and sources had just decided to quit. I felt like I would be doing it alone and didn't want to be in that position. You know - misery loves company.

Tell us about your recovery.
Suboxone has helped tremendously (and no, I have not had any withdrawal symptoms from it). God and family have been my biggest inspirations.

Your advice to others?
The chains of a bad habit seem light until they are too heavy to be broken. Don't let it get too far along....recognize the problem and face it. The longer your habit the worse it will be to quit. God Bless.
